It’s no surprise that I love tea but that extends beyond just drinking. I also enjoy beauty products and other things that use tea as an ingredient. That is why I was really excited when Ron from TEA.L reached out to tell me about their line of tea-infused skincare products. His passion for what they do was obvious. He founded the company with his husband Zhao right here in New Jersey, just a few cities away from me.
TEA.L uses freshly brewed tea as the base for their skincare products. The oils used are warm infused with Dragonwell green tea for 2 hours. I really appreciate that they use airless packaging. Not only does this cut down on wasted product but it helps to preserve the benefits of the ingredients. Much like tea, skincare products are actually very sensitive to exposure to light and oxygen.
Each of these products is available separately but there is a 20% discount when they are purchased as a set. TEA.L also offers free shipping for all orders over $45.
Green Tea + Rooibos Body Care

The first thing I noticed about this lotion was the texture. It was so much thicker than similar products that I’ve used. It almost reminded me of greek yogurt! The smell was fresh, woodsy, and sweet. That definitely came from the steeped rooibos herbal tea that was used for the base. It absorbed quickly into my skin without feeling greasy. My hands get very dry in the winter so I got into the habit of putting this on before going to bed each night.
Green Tea + Guayusa Face Care

TEA.L’s face lotion wasn’t quite as thick as the body care but it definitely had more weight to it than my usual moisturizer. I enjoyed how my face felt after using it but it was a bit too heavy to use daily on my acne-prone combination skin. It was a lifesaver on days that were particularly windy and cold though! TEA.L doesn’t add fragrances to their products but the natural scent of this cream was pleasantly floral.
Green Tea + Yerba Mate Eye Care

Eye cream isn’t part of my normal skincare routine (though, it probably should be as I edge closer to turning 40). The texture was THICK so a little goes a long way. There was a slight learning curve to make sure that I didn’t pump out too much product. Dark circles aren’t usually a problem for me but it did give a nice pick me up on days when I didn’t get a full night of sleep. The scent had a subtle citrus note from the bergamot oil.
