Rainy Friday at Sanctuary T

June 9, 2013March 1, 2020 Post a comment
Rainy Friday at Sanctuary T

I have a penchant for asking my boyfriend to meet up in the city on the days with the worst possible weather. This past Friday we made the journey to one of my favorite tea-ish destinations, Sanctuary T. It was raining cats and dogs (and possibly hamsters too) as we battled what felt like gale force winds. We were rather damp but very relieved when we stepped into Sanctuary T’s peaceful space.

Having reviewed the menu ahead of time, I was already settled on ordering the truffle macaroni and cheese with bacon. For my accompanying tea I ordered a cup of Ceylon. It was sinfully delicious and the tea helped break up the  heaviness of my dish. Jason got the crispy pork belly but he wasn’t a fan of it since he felt it was a bit under cooked. He did enjoy his cup of chai very much though. The rain was still pouring down so we decided to stay a bit longer and order desert. We both had strawberry cobbler and it was nothing short of amazing.

We plan to return soon for their afternoon tea service or maybe a lunch date. Even though the weather was perfectly miserable, I was still glad that we made the trip. We often have little adventures like this and they are something that I always look forward to. Thankfully Jason doesn’t mind indulging me in my quest for tea.
