I’m a sucker for anything pumpkin flavored, especially this time of year. Like most of the blends that I’ve tried from iHeartTeas, the blend was comforting, balanced and well thought out. It was earthy, creamy and sweet all at once. The base black tea was fairly mellow, allowing the other ingredients to really shine. It had a chewiness that I find typical of pumpkin teas. The spice came through as more of a cinnamon graham cracker. It’s important to keep in mind that this tea is not intended to be a chai. The flavoring was on the subtle side which is just how I like it. It had a refreshing astringency but there was no unpleasant bitterness. I enjoyed this tea very much on its own but I enjoyed it even more as a decadent latte. To make yourself a tasty treat just boil the leaves in milk and water, just as you would for a traditional chai. Top off the whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. Rachana Rachel Carter has done it again. I have a hard time choosing a favorite tea from her collection but this one is definitely one of the front runners.
Check out the tasting I did of this tea with some of my tea friends!
