Tea Horse Ceylon Nuwara Eliya

Country of Origin: Sri Lanka
Leaf Appearance: dark, twisted with some golden tips
Ingredients: black tea
Steep time: 5 minutes
Water Temperature: 212 degrees
Preparation Method: mesh infuser and porcelain teacup
Liquor: copper

The first thing that I noticed about this tea was the bright, coppery color of the liquor. It's one of my favorite things about Sri Lankan black teas. Although fairly light bodied, it was not short on taste at all. The taste was earthy and fruity with a hint of caramel sweetness. It just screamed fall to me but it was just enjoyable on a hot summer day. It was so lovely on its own, please don't tell me about it if you add milk or sugar to this awesome tea! I love that they provided information about the estate where this tea was grown (Kenmare, in case you were curious) as that is not something most companies provide for this region. This is the first tea that I've tried from Tea Horse and I was very impressed. There are a few other selections from them waiting in the wings so keep an eye out for those.
