    Tea Horse Black Keemun Mao Feng

The dry leaves of this particular selection were beautiful to look at. They were long, thin and twisted with a scattering of golden tips. The taste was earthy and somewhat malty with fruity notes and a hint of cocoa. A light smokiness came through in my second infusion. This tea is low in tannins so the astrinency was fairly mild.     Tea Horse Milk Oolong

Thankfully this one from Tea Horse fit the latter category. The taste was only slightly creamy but it had very distinct notes of caramel and buttered popcorn. It had a sweet, fruity finish that reminded me of pineapple without the tartness. I did three consecutive infusions but definitely could have gone for a few more if I had the time.     Tea Horse Ceylon Nuwara Eliya

    Country of Origin: Sri Lanka Leaf Appearance: dark, twisted with some golden tips Ingredients: black tea Steep time: 5 minutes Water Temperature: 212 degrees Preparation Method: mesh infuser and porcelain teacup Liquor: copper The first thing that I noticed about this tea was the bright, coppery color of the liquor. It’s one of my favorite things about Sri Lankan black teas. Although fairly light bodied, it was not short on taste at all. The taste was earthy and fruity with a hint of caramel sweetness.
