This tea was packaged in a silky pyramid tea bag and is part of the Sweet Medley Gourmet Tea Collection. It was sweet with a very cooling aftertaste. It wasn’t bitter or medicinal at all. Talk about a breath of fresh air! You would be hard pressed to find a stick of gum that would be more refreshing. Peppermint isn’t for everyone but I LOVE it. I always keep a stash of it around to help soothe tummy troubles or sore throats. It also keeps me awake at work without caffeine. I would definitely recommend this tea.
I love peppermint tea! It seems a little silly to buy it though here on the east coast, where mint grows like a weed.
I find, depending on when you harvest it, you can definitely get that clean, candy-like clearness to it. Other times though, I actually like the more bitter, herbaceous quality that you get if you harvest it after it blooms.
Have you ever tried growing it? Even if you don't have a garden, it grows like a weed…you can plant it just about anywhere, unmaintained property, anywhere there is soil, and it'll take over. Then come back in a few years and it'll be good to harvest from then on!
