The Friday roundup is a weekly collection of some of my favorite blog posts from around the tea world. It’s a great way to find new writers to follow!
Taking Tea with Catherine vented a bit about her frustration with the Instagram culture that seems to be taking over some of NYC’s tea destinations. This is so relatable! For those wanting to escape the “instannoying” hoards, I recommend a trip to Setsuggeka.
Jackie over at Milky Tea Cup shared her tips for making cold brew iced tea. This seriously one of my favorite methods for making tea. Just set it and forget it! One tip I would add is to use simple syrup in place of sugar. It will mix in much better.
Aroma cups are one of my favorite pieces of teaware but don’t always remember to use unless I’m serving guests. They really enhance the experience by helping us to focus on the sensory aspects of tea. Sara at Tea Happiness wrote a great guide to using them. Check out that action shot at the end!
This week Nazanin from Tea Thoughts shared a recipe for a dragonwell infused quinoa. Yum! The red quinoa she chose is beautiful to look at too. I’d be tempted to mix the spent leaves right in (hint: do this with white rice and gyokuro)!
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the First Flushes
The season of spring means it is time for first flush Darjeeling. Geoff from Steep Stories teas from three different estates. We’re in agreement on our appreciation of softer withers. I needed to start checking out what else 2019 has to offer from this region.
