I’m Living on a Japanese Tea Farm!
Mel over at Mel Had Tea has been living on a tea farm in Japan. Lucky duck! I’ve been living vicariously through her Instagram stories. This week’s blog post gives us some insight into what life is like in Wazuka. I especially love the video that she made. It is a dream of mine to travel there one day (among a long list of other tea places around the world).
How to Make Cold Brew Iced Tea
Summer is definitely here and all of us bloggers have got iced tea on the brain. Georgia from Notes on Tea shared her tips and tricks for cold brewing. I tend to strain my tea before drinking but I’ll have to try it “grandpa style” like she does, right out of the jar. Cold brewing your leaves that aren’t quite done yet is a great way to get the most of your tea.
Speaking of iced tea, Jee from Oh, How Civilized wrote a terrific guide to make a perfect glass of cold matcha. I love that she made it unsweetened because of a lot of tutorials out there rely on simple syrup. She got pointers from one of my favorite NYC matcha spots so it is no wonder that hers turned out so picture perfect.
The pitfalls of discussing puerh prices
Stéphane from Tea Masters Blog touched on a subject that every puerh drinker seems to be talking about lately. His depth of knowledge is something that I really appreciate. His blog is a veritable treasure trove of information. It is important to get different perspectives on any topic and I still need to dig further into this one.
2018 Secret Garden by Bitterleaf Teas
Bitterleaf Tea’s new releases are always intriguing but I have a really hard time narrowing down what to try, especially when it comes to the pricier selections. Secret Garden saw a pretty significant increase from last year. Thankfully Cody at The Oolong Drunk is familiar enough with the 2017 version to give a good comparison of the two.
Stay tuned next week for the annual World Tea Expo edition of the Friday Roundup!
