The Perfect Arnold Palmer featuring the Takeya Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker

Did you know that June is National Iced Tea month?  I thought it would be a perfect time to share my recipe for making a perfect Arnold Palmer. Named after the American golfer, this combination of iced tea and lemonade is one of my favorite summer drinks. The Takeya Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker makes it super easy to brew the tea and juice the lemons, all with a single tool. The Citrus Juicer attachment is super handy and I plan to play around with it a lot more this summer. Ingredients: 2 packets of Takeya Classic Black Flash Chill Iced Tea 6 lemons (5 for juicing and 1 for garnish) 4 cups of water 1…

Takeya Modern Flip Straw with Carry Handle 18oz

I’ll let you in on a secret. I love iced tea! I grew up drinking lots of the sweetened stuff. Now that my tea tastes have changed a bit I prefer unsweetened varieties but I still very much enjoy swigging a cold one. The trouble is, finding bottled unsweetened iced tea these days is like finding a needle in a haystack. Bringing my own seemed to be the only solution. I’ve tried both plastic and aluminum travel bottles but they were all hard to clean and added unpleasant tastes. That is why I was so excited when I saw these new glass bottles from Takeya. I’m rather accident prone so glass makes me…

Takeya Classic Black Flash Chill Iced Tea

Country of Origin: India Leaf Appearance: small, dark Ingredients: Assam black tea Steep time: 5 minutes Water Temperature: 212 degrees Preparation Method: Takeya Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker Liquor: deep reddish brown Classic black perfectly describes this iced tea. It was earthy and full bodied with mild fruity notes. The finish was sweet with just the right amount of astringency. For an Assam it was fairly mellow but it still had a nice boldness. The two quarts that I made disappeared pretty quickly so I wasn’t able to gauge how well it keeps over time. I prepared this using my Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker using the hot brewing directions. The drastic temperature…

Coconut and all of the yummy fruit flavors definitely brought the tropics to mind. The lime and lemon myrtle provided a nice bit of a citrus zing in the finish. I think that the papaya was definitely most dominant taste was I…

Takeya Green Mint Flash Chill Iced Tea

Country of Origin: China Leaf Appearance: deep green, tightly rolled Ingredients: Gunpowder Green Tea, Spearmint, Peppermint Steep time: 3 minutes Water Temperature: Preparation Method: Takeya Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker Liquor: gold Did you know that today is National Iced Tea Day? To celebrate, I brewed up some of this iced tea in my Takeya Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker. I really enjoy that it is loose leaf and that it comes in pre-measured pouches. It’s not that hard to measure out teaspoons but let’s face it, I’m lazy and like to take the easy way out whenever I can. Gunpowder green tea is one of my favorite teas whether it is hot or…

Takeya Flash Chill Iced Tea Maker 2 qt

Ever since I first saw Takeya’s Flash Chill Iced Tea Beverage System I have been wanting to give it a try. The tea maker itself is made out of BPA free acrylic. It looked great without being as fragile as a glass pitcher would be, especially for an accident prone person like myself. The design was unique in that the large infuser basket attaches directly to the airtight lid. It allowed plenty of room for leaves to expand but the fine mesh kept most leaf particles from escaping. The silicone handle made it easy to grip and comfortable to hold. I tested both Takeya’s Green Mint Flash Chill Iced Tea as well as a…
