This tea was your typical, basic White Peony. There were floral and fruity notes along with a subtle grassiness. There was no bitterness or astringency. Unfortunately, I felt that the taste was a bit flat. I’ve really enjoyed a lot of the teas that I’ve reviewed from Zentboutique but this one just did not wow me. I generally do not publish “bad” reviews but this tea is not in any way a bad tea. Their site describes it as an everyday drinker and that is exactly what this tea was. I always say that there is a time and a place for every tea. I could definitely see keeping some of this at the office or for traveling. This tea’s inexpensive price and uncomplicated taste make it perfect for those situations. When I’m sitting down to really enjoy my cup (or gaiwan), I want something that will challenge my taste buds.
