Torturing My Husband with Tea

Torturing My Husband with Tea

I realized that I haven’t formally introduced Husband Tea Torture here on the blog! Although my main creative medium is writing, I’ve been producing YouTube videos on and off over the years. That has fallen a bit by the wayside since Google+ was shut down. Their interface made it easy to record live interviews directly to YouTube.

Last year my husband, Jason, had the idea to do a series where I make him drink tea. Although we have been together for almost 10 years, he has not been bitten by the Camellia Sinensis bug as I have. I floated the idea to some tea friends to see what they thought. We talked about it often but never seemed to find the time to put it together. Then COVID-19 happened.

Suddenly we have much more time together than we usually would, most of it stuck at home. It was the perfect opportunity to finally make Jason’s idea a reality. And so that is how Husband Tea Torture came to be! The reception has been much better than we ever hoped for a fledging YouTube series. It turns out that a lot of folks enjoy torturing Jason with tea just as much as I do. 😂

Here’s a playlist if all of our episodes:

So far we know that he definitely does not like gyokuro or shu puerh. It’s hard to believe that we are already on episode 5! If this sounds like something you’d enjoy watching, I would appreciate it if you subscribe to the channel. We’ll be uploading new episodes of Husband Tea Torture every other Sunday. In between, I’ll be posting solo videos on a variety of tea-related topics.

Once we get to episode 10, we are planning to do an Instagram live Q&A session. Let us know in the comments below if there are any questions that you would like us to answer!
