Video – Episode 24: Interview with Lauren Purvis of Mizuba Tea Co.

I’ve gotten a bit off schedule when it comes to videos over the last few months. 2017 is a new year so let’s start off on the right foot! I’m going to change the format a bit going forward. For starters, I’ll only be publishing episodes here (and on YouTube, of course). I discovered that the majority of viewers were watching there anyway. This will help me to avoid having to pay podcast hosting fees and I won’t have to render two different versions of every episode. For that reason, I won’t be calling it a podcast anymore but the content will remain largely the same. You can still expect tea industry interviews, how…

Podcast Episode 19: Interview with Emilio Delpozo of The Jade Leaf

I’ve been a fan of The Jade Leaf for some time. Not only do they have a reputation for having some really incredible teas but the man behind the leaf is also well known for the beautiful teaware that he creates. I’m a sucker for those teapots with the wooden side handles! The differences in time zones always amuse me when I’m interviewing tea folks in other countries. Emilio is based in Taipei so we filmed at 11am EST (11pm Taiwan time). Keep an eye out for reviews of The Jade Leaf’s teas here on the blog soon. You can find out more about The Jade Leaf at http://thejadeleaf.com/. I’m so proud of…

Podcast Episode 18: Interview with Jeff Kovac of Four Seasons Tea Co.

I’ve been rather neglectful of my podcast lately, so much so that Twitter followers asked if there was a chance of bringing it back. Since I’ve scaled back my posting schedule a bit I’m going to make a concerted effort to film episodes more regularly. One of my favorite things about doing the podcast is getting to share the stories of the people behind the companies that I love. This episode is a perfect example of that. I recently made the acquaintance of Jeff Kovac from Four Seasons Tea Co. thanks to mutual tea friend +Tony Gebely. He shared some of his incredible tea with me and I can honestly say that his Da…

Q&A with Mario Leite of Tea-rrific! Ice Cream

Tea and ice cream might not seem like they go together but they definitely do! A few years ago I met Mario of Tea-riffic! Ice Cream at World Tea East. Not only did he used to live in my hometown but his Chunky London Misty really knocked my socks off. There is always a long line for samples whenever I see them at local shows and events. Today’s post is a bit of a Q&A. Mario shared how he started his company, where he draws inspiration from and more. Make sure you check out the special promo code just for +Tea for Me Please readers at the end of this post! Q: Have you always been…

Podcast Episode 9: Interview with Misty Peak Teas

I know, I know! I’ve been behind on filming new podcast episodes. Isn’t it the worst when life gets in the way of tea? Earlier this week I sat down with Nicholas from +Misty Peak Teas. His story is fascinating, to say the least. I love his passion and commitment to selling puerh that is made just by one family. I hope that you all enjoy it! You can find out more about Misty Peak Teas at their website: http://mistypeakteas.com/ P.S. I’ve been slacking on my email newsletter too but I promise that there will be one going out tomorrow! I was a very big supporter of Misty Peak Teas but have since distanced…

World Tea Expo 2014: Interview with James from Aiya Tea

During the expo I had the chance to have a quick chat with James Oliveira from +Aiya America Organic Matcha green tea. They are one of my go to companies when it comes to Japanese green teas, especially matcha and gkyokuro. Q: Have you noticed an increase in interest in your teas, particularly from the US? A: Yes, Matcha seems to be growing in the US. Years ago Matcha would have been completely foreign, but nowadays at least people have heard of Matcha or know a little about it. They might not be experts but at least they heard of Matcha. It helps when you also have people like Dr. Oz that mention it.…
