    Chobani Green Tea Greek Yogurt

Tea flavored things have a habit of jumping out at me when I’m at the grocery store. On a recent trip, this new green tea yogurt from Chobani screamed out, “Take me with you!”. I was immediately drawn to the Camellia Sinensis blossom on the package. I thought it was interesting that they opted for that instead of just a cluster of leaves. The taste was very subtle, much more like vanilla yogurt than tea. I really wish that they had gone the easy route and just used matcha instead of “green tea essence”. Greek yogurt has fairly strong taste and the green tea needed to be more present in order to stand…

    Pairing Marshmallows with Tea

I often work at the Kusmi Tea location in the food hall at The Plaza. It’s a fun place with lots of good eats but I rarely get to indulge. I pass Three Tarts on my way to the restroom and their jars of fluffy marshmallows always catch my eye. After finally given in, I munched on a few at work and took the rest home with me. I couldn’t help but think about how well these sweets would go with tea. I enjoyed eating them all on their own rather than putting them in the tea. These are some pairings that I came up with: Cinnamon Marshmallow and Chai One of the easiest…

Beau Bien Fine Foods Apricot Darjeeling Preserves

I love finding tea infused treats almost as much as I love finding new teas to drink. Recently +Joseph Wesley Black Tea was serving uptea in NYC at Michele Varian Home Design. I stopped by to say hello but my eyes lit up when Joe told me to try these apricot preserves that were made using his Darjeeling. It was amazingly delicious! The texture was perfect and I loved that the Darjeeling was really able to shine through. I’ve been spreading it on toasted English muffins and sipping his 2014 Classic Chinese (review is in the works). If you are in the Detroit area I definitely recommend picking up a jar…or two…or three…or four. {…

Christine Eats Tippsy Tea Time Truffles

I was in Whole Foods picking up some Celestial Seasonings Kombucha Energy Shots when I spotted an inviting pink box of tea and liquor infused truffles. They were rather expensive but what is life without the occasional indulgence? Right off the bat I loved the snazzy polka dot patterns and fun colors. The flavors that were included in my box from left to right are: Milk Chocolate Chamomile Tea and Honey Jack Daniels White Chocolate English Breakfast Tea and Whiskey Dark Chocolate Peppermint Tea and Bailey’s Irish Cream These were unbelievably decadent. The ganache in the centers was super creamy but not too sweet. My favorite of the three was the white chocolate…

    Vosges Chocolate Matcha Bar

I couldn’t resist picking this bar up on a recent trip to Whole Foods. I don’t see it listed on Vosges’ site so I’m not entirely certain that it is still being made. As would be expected, Vosges touts the health benefits and antioxidant levels of matcha. At 45% cacao, I would have thought that this bar would taste like milk chocolate but the green tea added a new level of richness that made it taste like a much darker chocolate. Although the matcha wasn’t really discernable in the flavor profile, this still hit the spot for a chocoholic like myself. It was a bit pricy but definitely worth a try if you…
