I was expecting something in the realm of an Andes chocolate but the taste of this tea was rather understated. It was earthy, creamy and sweet with just a hint of chocolate. The mint came through as a cooling aftertaste. Too much mint can come off as medicinal so I was glad that they did not overdo it with the peppermint. Although they weren’t easily discernible in the flavor profile, the apple pieces helped to balance out the blend. Having tasted many chocolate mint teas that were just plain awful, I was relieved to have one that was not grossly artificial tasting. I was looking for a relaxing night time sip and that is exactly what I got. Although I’m not one to add anything to me teas, a touch of almond milk and a tiny bit of sugar would go very nicely. I met the Octavia Tea team at the Summer Fancy Food Show and I was impressed by their enthusiasm and commitment to natural ingredients.
