Sprudge is a coffee blog that I had never heard of before. They got on my radar because this week they’ve dedicated all of their posts to tea. It was great to see some of my favorite companies and NYC haunts get some press.

This week The Traveling Tea Taster gives us the lowdown on the tannins. This is something I’ve been meaning to write about myself. I especially loved learning more about the chemical structure of tannin.
Speaking of learning about tea, Lu Ann from The Cup of Life wrote about each of the six categories of tea (and then some). The pictures that she used are supper helpful, especially the comparisons for puerh and oolong.

I’d like to hear more about tannins. What amount of it is beneficial, and why, and the kinds of tea or beverages to get it from. Asking for a friend and for myself.
I’ll definitely be doing more research. Tannins are found in tea, coffee, wine, fruits, and lots of other substances. They don’t necessarily have nutritional value but some people do find that they can help with gastrointestinal issues.
