Friday Roundup: March 1st – March 7th

The Friday Roundup is a weekly collection of five of my favorite blog posts from around the world. It’s my little way of getting the word out about all of my favorite tea blogs. Is there someone I’m missing? Let me know about it in the comments below!

Matcha Affogato

Have you ever tried pouring matcha on your ice cream? That might sound strange but it’s seriously delicious! Ricardo from My Japanese Green Tea shared some pointers on how to make this sweet treat for yourself. Affogato is usually made with espresso but I enjoy this tea twist.

Tea meditation to connect with joy

This week Gabriela Green shared a tea meditation, complete with a free cheat sheet of calming herbal teas. All you need is a hot cup of tea and a moment for yourself. One of my favorite quotes from Thich Nhat Hanh was the perfect addition to this blog post.

Tea Under UV!

I’ve enjoyed tuning into Virginia from PairTea’s Twitch streams. Putting tea under a black light is not something that I ever thought of doing but the things you can learn are fascinating. Compounds like chlorophyll and polyphenols can be seen in the leaves based on the colors that we see.

Looking Back and Moving Forward

Congrats to Micah at The Weekend Sessions for celebrating his first blogiversary! It was great to get to know a bit more about his tea journey. He called tea a team sport and I can definitely relate to that. The people are a big part of what makes this hobby so much fun!

Stash Tea Shop

Heather from Hanamichi visited the Stash Tea Shop in Tigard, OR. What a lovely space! I really like it when tea places offer flights. It’s the perfect option for indecisive tea drinkers like me. This shop will definitely be a must-visit if I ever visit the Pacific Northwest.
