Hooty Tea Travels – 2018 Tea Fest PDX Portland Oregon
Char over at Oolong Owl wrote about her experience at this year’s Tea Fest PDX. As far as tea festivals go, this one definitely sounds like one of the most awesome to attend. Where else would you find Glen from Crimson Lotus Tea brewing up puerh under a tree? There are quite a few teas that are added to my “must try” list after reading this.
Sheng Puerh from a Secret Wild Tea Garden
Speaking of Crimson Lotus Tea, Geoff at Steep Stories of the Lazy Literatus had a chance to try a very exciting tea from them. Wildwood is a new release that was made with leaves sourced from a secret old growth tea forest in Yunnan. Glen’s video of the garden definitely made me want to try this tea ASAP but Geoff’s review bumped it up higher on the list.
Qi Aerista Smart Tea Brewer Review
Writing an honest review can be difficult when you aren’t happy with the product, especially when you like the people behind the product. Rachel from iHeartTeas handled this predicament well with her review of the Qi Aerista Smart Tea Brewer. A lot of folks were crazy for this little gizmo when it launched at World Tea Expo but it definitely sounds like there are some kinks that still need to be worked out.
My tasting notes: 2018 Yiwu Raw Puerh
Anna at The Tea Squirrel won a puerh cake from Bitterleaf Teas. I haven’t tried this particular tea myself but I really enjoyed their Year of the Monkey which is also from Yiwu. This tea is the perfect accompaniment to the book she is reading, Puer Tea: Ancient Caravans and Urban Chic. Anna gets major photography brownie points for this post. The shots of her abalone shell are beautiful.
DIY: Second-hand Jewelry Box Into Rustic Chic Tea Box!
Gabie at Tea End Blog put together an awesome tutorial where she transformed an old jewelry box into a very chic tea box. Her choice of white leather for the interior looks so luxurious. It’s been a while since I got crafty but this post definitely has me itching to make something. If only a box this size was big enough to hold all of the tea I have!
