Friday Roundup: January 31st – February 6th

Lapsang Taiwan

Diary of a Northern Teaist shared their experience drinking an unusually smoky Taiwanese black tea. This is definitely the first I’ve heard of a lapsang from this region. It certainly sounds like the perfect tea to drink on a chilly winter day.

David’s Tea-Tea Tasting Club Box #1 2021 Unboxing

Ash from Ash Loves Tea reviewed the first box she received from David’s Tea’s new subscription service. I love the colorful backgrounds that she used to photograph each of the teas that she received. Make sure that you check out the accompanying video!

My Ass-Backwards Journey with An Ji Bai Cha

Geoff from Steep Stories went on a bit of An Ji Bai Cha adventure. He is much braver than I am for mixing green and black teas made from this unusual cultivar. Even if the results weren’t great, it was definitely fun to read about.

Tea Book Review: The Story of Japanese Tea by Tyas Sosen

Eustacia from Eustea Reads is one of my go-to blogs for what tea books to pick up next. This week she wrote about one that I very much enjoyed. It was interesting to hear her perspective on it, especially since she is currently taking a Japanese tea instructor course.

Valentine’s Teas and Tisanes

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and Traci from Tea Infusiast has some great recommendations for teas to celebrate with. There’s sure to be something for everyone on this list, but I think I’m partial to the teas with chocolate notes.
