The Friday Roundup is a weekly collection of five of my favorite blog posts from around the world. It’s my little way of getting the word out about all of my favorite tea blogs. Is there someone I’m missing? Let me know about it in the comments below!
I is for Ichiban-cha (First Crop Tea) 一番茶
Judi from The ABC’s of tea is always working her way through the alphabet. This week fell on the letter I, for Ichiban-cha. Japan’s first flush is a treasured tea and this is a great intro for those who aren’t familiar with it. I love her explanation of why this tea is of higher quality.
2020 December Old Ways Tea Club
I’ve been hearing quite a bit of buzz of a new yancha-centric tea subscription so I was excited to see a review from Char at Oolong Owl. I really like the idea of a box coming every other month. That would really help (at least a little) with tea stash overload.
Antonia from Steep. Sip. Repeat. put together a little guide with some tips on buying and preparing matcha. These are sure to set you on the road to whisking up a tasty, frothy bowl of tea. Sifting is my favorite pointer because it makes such a big difference.
A Tea Addict’s Journal was one of the first tea blogs I found and it was part of what inspired me to start Tea for Me Please. Congrats to MarshalN on reaching 15 years! That is quite the accomplishment. Make sure to tune into his upcoming live stream with Crimson Lotus Tea.
Teakan’s Vol. 2 Exploration Kit | Tea Review
Connie from Tea in Spoons shared her experience tasting through the latest exploration kit from Teakan. I’ve seen these popping up on Instagram but it was great to her perspective on the teas and packaging. I really love that she tried each of them gongfu and western style.
