Friday Roundup: April 11th – April 17th

April 16, 2021October 6, 2021 1 comment

The Friday Roundup is a weekly collection of five of my favorite blog posts from around the world. It’s my little way of getting the word out about all of my favorite tea blogs. Is there someone I’m missing? Let me know about it in the comments below!

Easy Vegan Matcha Ice Cream

Suzanne from Tea Foodie shared a delicious recipe for vegan matcha ice cream. The coconut cream base sounds like it would go very well with matcha green tea. It made me wish that I had an ice cream maker so that I could give it a try.

How to Make a Rose Cardamom Latte

There’s nothing quite like a chai latte but the caffeine in the black tea base limits when we can enjoy them. Traci from Tea Infusiast concocted a tasty and caffeine free alternative. The lovely pink color comes from beet root powder.

Jin Jun Mei—A Gentle Black Tea

Jill from It’s More Than Tea her first Jin Jun Mei. This is one of my favorite Chinese black teas so I was very interested to read her impressions. I loved that she compared the different terpenes that are prominent in different types of tea.

The Sainomidori Tea Cultivar

Ricardo from My Japanese Green Tea is my go-to source for info on the many Japanese tea cultivars. This week he profiled the Sainomidori, a fairly new addition that was registered in 2013. It is always interesting to hear about their characteristics.

2020 Winter Laoshi Oolongs from Tillerman Teas

I love a good tea battle. Char from Oolong Owl compared three different winter Laoshi oolongs from Tillerman Teas. I have to agree with her that Hehuanshan needs more hype. Their teas are so good!

Greetings from Singapore. Interesting list of topics. I’m an irregular tea drinker but I do enjoy reading tea blogs. I have just discovered your blog recently. There are other blogs I follow which are quite interesting too.
