The Amazing Health Benefits of Pu’erh Tea
I love a good April fool’s joke and this week the guys at TeaDB really got me laughing. This tongue-in-cheek video pokes fun at some of the purported health benefits of puerh. My fiance didn’t really get most of it but my fellow tea heads will definitely get the humor here. Save your tea for after or you might just wind up spitting some of it out!
Margaret’s Hope Darjeeling
God Save the Tea is a great blog that I recently discovered through Instagram. Michele reviewed a Darjeeling from one of my favorite estates this week. I’ve never heard of Team Tea but their packaging is really eye-catching. I’ve got a big batch of new 1st flush teas in my “to be reviewed” pile and this is a great reminder that I need to dig in.
Comparing 2 single-cultivar matcha
Anna at The Tea Squirrel took a deep dive into matcha by comparing examples made with the Okumidori and Saemidori cultivars. Side by side tastings are a great way to develop your palate. The evaluation tips that she picked up from Kettl are definitely something to keep in mind for the future. I’m partial to Saemidori myself.
How to Taste Tea Like a Tea Sommelier
Mel at Mel Had Tea brings us a handy-dandy guide to tasting tea like a pro. Describing the tea that I drink was definitely something I struggled with when I first started out. This post has lots of great vocabulary, making it easier to find the words to explain all of the wonderful tastes and sensations that you might come across.
Questions I get asked about Puerh Storage
When it comes to puerh storage, Cwyn is probably one of the most knowledgeable folks out there. It’s no surprise that she is often contacted for advice. I’m personally a fan of dryer storage but there are some great tips and words of caution here for those who want to give a humid set up a try. Brush off the mold and keep on drinking!
