I received some very exciting news last week. Tea for Me Please is nominated for a World Tea Award! It's an honor to be counted among some of some of my favorite blogs including World of Tea, Tea Happiness, Tea Geek, and A Tea Addict's Journal. I'm also lucky enough to call many of them friends.
I've been able to attend World Tea Expo a few times and the awards ceremony has become one of my favorite aspects. What could be better than getting dressed up with some of your favorite people to celebrate my heroes in the tea industry? There have been so many memories made and wonderful conversations had over the years. I'm missing out this year but I'll be avidly following everyone else's Las Vegas adventures from home. What happens in Vegas doesn't stay there when there's tea involved!
In 2015, I won the award for Best Social Media Reach. The awards dinner was held aboard the beautiful ocean liner RMS Queen Mary in Long Beach. CA. It was a particularly meaningful location because my grandfather had worked on the ship for a short time. I do not hesitate when I say that it was truly one of best nights of my life. I was completely overwhelmed by handshakes, hugs, congratulations, and well-wishes. Getting to share that moment with a big crew of fellow tea bloggers was icing on the cake.
This award is no longer part of the lineup, which makes that little glass trophy sitting on my tea shelf even more special. Every time I look at it, I think about how tea and social media have enabled me to connect with people from across the globe.
Thank you to everyone who nominated me this year! I truly appreciate the support. Hopefully, the third time's a charm! The blog turns 10 in October and winning would be an amazing way to celebrate that milestone. Awards and accolades aren't everything but as a content creator, it is nice to be recognized for your work. If you are attending World Tea Expo, I would really appreciate your vote.
Note: Only votes from registered attendees will be counted. I appreciate any and all support but please don't "stuff the ballot box" if you are not actually attending. Thank you! :)
