2018 Tea Outlook
World of Tea shared some predictions for this year from a variety of tea folks, including yours truly. It was an honor to be included among so many industry professionals. I love getting different perspectives like this.
Nepali Tea at the Sunday Tea Tasting
Virginia at Virginia’s Pairteas attended a tasting of Nepalese teas at L’Espalier in Boston. As usual, her post is comprehensive and chock full of knowledgeable tidbits. I think we are going to see a lot more from this region in the future.
Toronto Tea Festival 2018 Recap and Thoughts
The Toronto Tea Festival is an event that has been on my tea travel wishlist for several years now. I’ve decided that 2019 will be the year (once I get through all of my wedding craziness) but for now, I’ll have to live vicariously through Lu Ann’s recap.
An epic tea tasting with David Lee Hoffman
Anna at The Tea Squirrel wrote about her experience meeting someone who has become a bit of a living legend in the tea world, David Lee Hoffman. She tasted 18 different teas and was understandably tea drunk by the end of it. Talk about epic! Her post reminded me of how much I enjoyed his “camel breath” puerh back in the day.
2010 Kang Yang Chun Liu An Tea from Bana Tea Company
Speaking of tea luminaries, Char at Oolong Owl picked up a dark tea from Bana Tea Company that was made with material selected by tea master Vesper Chan. I would definitely be tempted to buy a whole basket of it. Her notes of musty books sound like it would be right up my alley.
