A sure sign of a good quality Pi Lo Chun is if the leaves fall to the bottom when added to the water. These leaves all sunk like rocks. It was even too quick for me to snap a good picture of it. I loved their curly shape and downy appearance. There was quite a large amount of buds. The taste was light, sweet and vegetal with some mellow fruity notes. There was no bitterness and just the slightest hint of astringency, even in my subsequent re-steeps. When making this tea, you should add the leaves to the water rather than the other way around. The leaves are very delicate and that will cause the least amount of trauma to them. For a tea that was so well made and tasty, this one is very cost effective. If you consider how many cups you can get by resteeping, $14 for 2oz is a real steal!
