Although I'm usually a fan of darker oolongs, it's nice to sip something a bit on the greener side from time to time. This hand rolled Tie Guan Yin was exactly what I was looking for. First of all, how amazing is it to be drinking tea that was picked a few months ago (I wrote this review on June 13th and the leaves were harvested on May 2nd). The taste was full of orchid sweetness that lingered in my palate long after each sip. It was vegetal enough to have a pleasant briskness but it wasn't bitter at all. I did three consecutive infusions and the leaves definitely could have gone a few more rounds. As I always, I absolutely love all of the additional information +TeaVivre provides in their website. The interview with the farmer who produced this tea, Chen Biyi, was very informative. I only had a sample pack of this tea and I'm rather sad that it's gone now.
