I am a big fan of +Numi Organic Tea‘s Spinach Chive and have been eagerly waiting for a chance to try the rest of this unique line of savory teas. The tomato mint immediately struck me as even more broth like. It was darker in color and had a strong, spicy aroma. The taste was just as robust and spicy with slightly sweet finish. The allspice and pepper were in the forefront but I was still able to pick out the individual components. The black tea was a bit lost in such a melange of flavors but otherwise I thought that this blend was fairly well balanced. I cannot wait to experiment with cooking with tea. Stews and gravies definitely come to mind. I might even try my hand at a savory scone. I’ll be sure to post any recipes that I come up with.
