The dry leaves of this tea were larger in size and higher quality than most earl greys. I was impressed by their appearance post-steeping and I think that the use of Ceylon and Keemun made all the difference. I don’t believe that I’ve ever seen orange blossom flowers before but they were a nice touch of color along with the typical corn flowers. The taste was earthy and full bodied with an underlying sweetness. There was plenty of citrus zest but it wasn’t overwhelming. There was a pleasant astringency and the aftertaste had a nice cooling affect. Although you could add milk and sugar, this blend would be best all on its own. I’m not sure if I would call it posh but this certainly was an enjoyable cup of tea. I have a few more samples to get through from this UK based company and I am really looking forward to them.
