The Meaning of Tea and it's accompanying book. Making of Tea has been on my wishlist for a while so I couldn't resist picking up a copy when I saw The Meaning of Tea booth at the New York Coffee and Tea Festival. It is a silent film that follows the process of making Oriental Beauty oolong from leaves in the field to the final tea cup. They show every step of the journey including picking, withering, rolling and baking. The fact that there was no narration allowed the tea to really be the star of the film. At only 11 minutes long, it's short but captivating for anyone who is passionate about tea. I definitely found myself wanting to take part in the steaming cups of tea that were the finished product.
